 Ron's S gauge rolling stock
I had a small Flyer set prior to volunteering to take over our large scale layout, a 21160 loco, 24309 tank, 24110 gon and 24603 caboose. I remember my Dad having it, but I don't know why as he was never into model trains. I set it up once and ran it, but being into HO never did anything with it until now. The S gauge loop was finished in February 2009. I've since bought the additional cars and locos you see here. I tend to buy only cars that have plausible markings and resemble real equipment. I've included a real photo where I have one. I have a lot of gondolas, they are the least costly Flyer cars and I plan on loading them with gifts at Christmas time. I've tried to obtain at least one of each car type for the club layout.

transpixel ACL real & CNW 21085 Pacifics. None of the pix of real C&NW pacifics look like the Flyer model. However, the USRA light pacific is very close. They were never owned by the C&NW, only the ACL, B&O, L&N, GTW and GM&O. I've attached a photo of an ACL USRA light pacific for comparison, complete with white sidewall drivers. You be the judge. transpixel

transpixel Prototype top, SHS #01142 model below. AF UP car is a collector's item, too spendy and not strictly protoype. Now, are those "hubcaps" (journal covers) yellow in the real photo or just rusty? transpixel

transpixel NP real & model reefers. The only real NP cars with small monads (NP heralds) were wood cars. Oh well, I'm from Seattle and I like NP. This one had already been converted from link to knuckle couplers. transpixel
