Yes, the website looks a little different! Major changes to MyFlyerTrains.org have been way overdue. The software used to make most of its content is eight years old and showing its age. This is a large website and managing it has become quite a task. I have decided to update things a bit, and change to something known as “Content Management Software”, specifically WordPress.
So what does this mean to you, the site visitor? It means that this website will now be more interactive. You will be able to post your comments on articles. When you have something to add to what I have said, you will be able to chime in, and when you believe I got it wrong, you will be able to point that out too. For me, I will be able to update the site far more frequently. I am hoping that the MAIN LINE article will change at least weekly. The articles will also be archived so that you can continue to refer to them when they drop off the front page.
I have also decided to eliminate advertising from the site. You will notice that the banner ads will gradually disappear as various sections of the site are updated. I want to thank the advertisers: Doug Peck of Portlines, Mark Preman formerly of AmericanFlyerTrains.com and Flyer collector Bob Conner, for lending their support over the past several years! I greatly appreciate your contributions!
Finally, rest assured that all of the content that you have come to expect will continue be available here for your enjoyment. As always, thanks for visiting MyFlyerTrains.org! Chuck
